about

"Better" is the first single from our debut EP "Lazy Sunday Tapes", which will be released in June 2022. The message: It's human to have bad days - to put pressure on yourself to always be in a good mood, is not. We tried to merge the warm intimacy of a bedroom pop production with the vastness of soulful vocals and laid-back fuzz guitars. Everything is brought together by the tape machine, horns and mellotron. Enjoy!

lyrics

When city lights come crashing
Down on a dark blue night
I stand there burning
I got one bullet left to bite
No need to hold on, no need to hold on

If you only know the good days
The better days won’t come
If you only know the good days
The better days won’t come

There’ve been times that
I felt seen clearly
Home and safe, home and safe
All it took to feel weary
All it took to feel bad
Was pushing back and forth oh so busy
Failed to see what we had

If you only know the good days
The better days won’t come
If you only know the good days
The better days won’t come
If you only know the good days
The better days won’t come
If you only know the good days
The better days won’t come

In early 2020, meditating in the basement of the art collective Peer23, the two songwriters Phil Soddemann & Tom Woschitz fused their minds in a heartfelt hug. While being soaked in the legacy of 60s rock and 90s independent, they happily jumped into fresh waters - swimming alongside Childish Gambino and Tyler the Creator. ... more
